Two states, one truck leaving Highland at six-thirty.
Highland sits just off the Borman Expressway and Route 41, so Munster, Griffith, Hammond, Schererville and Dyer are usually a next-day look. Down I-65 to Crown Point and Merrillville, or across the state line into Lansing, Homewood and the South Side of Chicago, give us two or three days. Valparaiso, Portage and Chesterton by arrangement.

- Do you need to get on my roof to give me a price?
- Only with your permission. Christian asks before he sets the ladder, takes photos of every slope, and shows them to you before he leaves. If you would rather he stayed on the ground, he can measure from the ground and the photos, and the estimate will say so.
- How fast is the written estimate?
- The same week as the roof walk, by email, itemized line by line. If you need it sooner for a closing, say so on the call and it moves up.
- What happens after a storm?
- Call us. If water is coming in, the crew comes out the same day or the next morning to tarp the open spots. Christian photographs the roof, explains what he found, and writes up the repair. Nothing goes in the estimate that is not in a photo you have seen.
- Why the ice and water shield in the valleys?
- Storms off Lake Michigan push rain sideways and the valleys carry the most water on the roof. Code asks for the membrane at the eaves. We run it the full length of every valley and around every penetration, because that is where roofs leak first.
- What does the license line on this page mean?
- Illinois requires anyone roofing for pay to hold a state roofing contractor license, and the license name and number must appear on advertising, so every roof we do on the Chicagoland side is under that license. Indiana has no state roofing license; towns in Lake County register contractors themselves. Ascend Restoration's Illinois number goes here before this page goes live, and anyone can check it on the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation license lookup.
